0552 hours. While operating at the working house fire at 1274 Waverly Avenue in Farmingville, the Ronkonkoma Fire Department was activated for a house fire at 2 Tarkington Road in their own district. Units arrived and encountered heavy fire through the roof of a two story private dwelling. Mutual aid was requested from the Lakeland, Holbrook, Holtsville and Nesconset Fire Departments. Crews pushed into the building with numerous hose lines battling fire on the first and second floor and in the attic. The fire was placed under control at approximately 0630.
