December 15, 2019 2149 hours. Dix Hills Fire Department is called to respond to a reported house fire at 30 Wildwood Drive. Units arrived to find an active fire in a three car garage attached to a two story private dwelling. While crews went to work, mutual aid was requested from the Deer Park Fire Department for a RIT, Wyandanch Fire Company for an engine and the Melville Fire Department to cover. While en-route, Melvilles engine 2-5-7 was re-directed into the scene and the Commack Fire Department was requested for a covering engine. Crews stretched two hose lines to deal with a heavy volume of fire in the garage and the fire extended into the attic of the house. The Greenlawn Fire Department sent an ambulance to the scene. The fire was placed under control at approximately 2230 hours. Suffolk Police Arson Squad Detectives are investigating. Stringer News Photos.
