August 9, 2022. 1408 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department responds to a report of a house fire at 10 Slate Lane in the Village of Islandia. Units arrive to find an active fire on the upper level of two story private dwelling. Mutual aid was provided by the Hauppauge, East Islip, Islip Terrace, and Lakeland. One line was stretched and operated. The fire was confined to the upper floor and was placed under control within 15 minutes. There were no injuries. Photos by Ken Bradbury.
