August 16, 1974 St. James responds to an active maternity at 405 Gibbs Pond Road in Nesconset at 1105 hours. Dave Fischler and Dave Mills Sr handled the delivery while Pete Redenberg drove the ambulance to St. Charles Hospital. Delivery took place while they were on Main Street in Port Jefferson. This was the 5th delievery for St. James FD but the first within the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The proud parents were Mary Anne and Richard Ramoska.
