August 22, 2003 Fire reported prior to 4AM. Fire started in a soft serve ice cream machine and was knocked down when a water pipe above the machine melted. There was heavy water and smoke damage within. The store was owned by Ron and Lauire Buell. Ron Beull is a NYCPD Sergeant at the time of the fire. Smithtown Fire Marshals handle the investigation.
