Nesconset FD-Fire at Area Code 516 nightclub

August 3, 1981 Area Code 516, a Disco located on Middle Country Road was destroyed by a suspicious fire. FD arrived to find heavy fire within and venting through the roof. Roger DeRocco was Chief of Department and the OIC. Fire reported around 2300 and was placed under control at approximately 0345 hours. Smithtown and St. James assisted at the scene. Area Code 516 was located on the south side of Middle Country Road at Browns Road. There is a public storage facility there now.
