August 30, 2022, 2154 hours. The Dix Hills Fire Department responds to 30 Calumet Drive in regard to multiple callers reporting a house fire. Units arrive to find fire on the second floor and through the roof of a two story private dwelling. Crews stretched in while mutual aid was requested from the Melville FD for an engine to the scene, Greenlawn FD for an ambulance and an engine and Deer Park FD for a RIT. One firefighter was transported to the hospital during the incident. Commack sent an engine to cover CVAC cyanide kit.
