CVAC EMT’s handle in-flight emergency

September 12, 1998 CVAC EMT’s Rem Godfrey and Greg Minutti were returning from an EMS seminar in Phoenix Arizona aboard TWA flight 348 from Phoenix to St. Louis Missouri, when Minutti overheard a conversation between a flight attendant and passenger William Zachary of Phoenix. Mr. Zachary was suffering from a medical emergency so Minutti and Godfrey identified themselves to the flight crew and offered their assistance. While Rem handled patient care, Minutti communicated with the crew, The two EMT’s remained with the patient until the plane landed in St. Louis an hour later. Once on the ground, patient care was transferred to the Abbott County Paramedic’s. Godfrey and Minutti completed the necessary paperwork and then continued onto their connecting flight back to NY.
