Dix Hills FD-House fire on Suncrest Drive

September 15, 2008. The Dix Hills Fire Department is dispatched to a house fire on Suncrest Drive. Units arrive to find heavy fire in a two story wood frame dwelling. Two occupants, a mother and her teenage son, escaped the house through a back door, uninjured. Dix Hills was assisted at teh scene by Greenlawn, Melville, Deer Park, Huntington Manor, Commack and East Northport FDs. Sixty firefighters were on the scene with 15 pieces of apparatus and had the blaze under control within 45 minutes. Larry Feld was the Chief in charge (Dix Hills FD). The cause of the fire appeared to have been electrical. Suffolk Arson is investigating. I have Fire News article (Page 8 of the November 2008 Edition).
