NY Times Headline: “Fire Guts LI house being sold to blacks” Initial arriving units encountered a fully involved two story residential structure fire. Engine 4-4-1 was first due that day immediately followed by ladder 4-4-7. Units operated under the command of Chief Greg Anderson
Arson, Smithtown Fire Marshals and Bias Crimes unit called in as a black family was supposed to buy the house on the 25th. This was a two story colonial dwelling. Fire appears to have been set in the interior stairwell.
