October 25, 2022, 1125 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 106 Fig. Arriving units encountered fire on the exterior ⅔ corner which extended into the second floor of a two story private dwelling and transmitted the working fire. Two hand lines were stretched and operated and the fire was quickly extinguished. All units cleared from the scene within an hour. Suffolk Arson and Islip Town Fire Marshals handled the investigation. Assistance was provided at the scene by Central Islip Hauppauge ambulance, Commack Ambulance, by East Islip FD, Islip FD, Brentwood FD and the Islip Terrace FD. Hauppauge FD and East Brentwood FD sent units to cover for the duration of the incident.
