2109 hours. The Kings Park FIre Deparrtment responds to Oak Lane off Sunken Meadow Road for a reported chimney fire. Units arrive and confirm an active fire in the chimney, with extension to the attic of a large two story wood frame dwelling. Lines are stretched and mutual aid is requested from Smithtown FD for an engine to the scene, East Northport FD for a RIT, Greenlawn FD for a ladder to the scene, Commack FD for an engine to the scene. The St. James FD sent an engine to cover and Nesconset sent an ambulance to cover.. Two lines were stretched and operated. The fire was placed under control at 2143 hours. There were no injuries and all units were clear from the scene by 2245 hours. Fire Marshals from the Town of Smithtown Department of Public Safety are investigating.
