1150 hours. The Smithtown Fire Department responds with Suffolk Police to the intersection of Route 347 and Terry Road in regards to a traffic collision. Units arrive to find that an adult female was struck by two vehicles while walking across the eastbound lanes of Route 347. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a Physicians Assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiners Office. The road was closed until approximately 0400 hours for the police investigation.
